This photo kinda happpened by accident. I was taking a picture of this window and accidentally put my finger over the flash, giving it a reddish glow. You can even see my finger in the reflection.

Everytime it rains this becomes a waterfall and erodes the limestome more and more exposing sea shells embedded in the rock. If you look hard you can see some in one of the rocks to the top left.

This is a rock pool created after the flood this weenend at my parents farm. I like how you can see the reflection of the rock banks in the perfectly clear water. It was the overflow from the pond that unearthed all of this limestone.

This is a part of a fence that has its paint peeling off. I really like the different colors that you see here as well as the 3-D of the peeling paint.

I was really bored sitting in construction the other day so I took this picture of my side mirror. I like the way that you can see the cars that already passed me and then also see the one that is passing me at the moment.

This is a tree swing that is in our wood lot back home. I thought that it was neat how you can see the individual parts of the rope as well as the grain of the wood that makes up the seat.

We burned pastures tonight. I liked the way the fire was "climbing" up the fence post. I also liked that the cattle were in the background alert, watchful, and curious.

These are my photos inspired by The Diving Bell and The Butterfly. One is of a close-up view of a dandelion from below, another is of trees from a skylight, and the other is of a blue jar in front of a blocked-glass window. The different views and transparencies make these more abstract than the pictures i would normally take.

This is a picture that I took of our fish pond at home. I like the colors, shadowing, as well as the way the branches flow through the picture.

I took this picute of the El Dorado Refinery while walking to my car after one of my evening classes. It always amazes me how pretty the refinery is at night with all the lights on.

I found this imprint of a skid-steer's track in our yard after the rain this weekend. I like the progression from mud to dead grass to new grass, and the yellow flower that missed being crushed in the bottom left corner.

Every morning when Im getting ready for class I hear birds fluttering around on my ac unit in my room. It took a few days of trying but I finally got a picture of them before they flew away.

I took this photo at the riverwalk in Council Grove. I like the way the reflection is wavy, and uncertain. It reminds me of my brother's veiw of America. "We may have uncertain times, but we will always survive." You can still see the flag, even with the rough water.

This is a waterfall that is in my hometown. I liked the way that it foamed at the base, kinda like a bubble bath.

I took this picture during a really bad rainstorm. It is the intersection of highway 77 and highway 50. I like how you can see the reflection of the lights on the road. I also turned the pic upside down to make it harder to realize what this picture really was.

This is a picture of the hideous wood paneling in my bedroom. I think that the pattern looks look a spider and it kind of freaks me out when I'm laying in bed! I think the pattern is ironic because when we first moved in the rental house had a SERIOUS spider problem, and now that paneling is there to remind me.....(creepy!)

I took a picture of a flower in my room, and then enhanced it on my computer to look like a watercolor painting. I think that it is neat how the center of the flower is unchanged from the original picture while the rest of the flower is unique.

This is an old tree in my back yard. It's so big and has so many limbs twisting and tangling around each other that it almost blocks out the sun.

This is a burnt wall socket but up close it kind of reminds me of a bat. Also the middle part kind of looks like it is getting deeper like a a crater.

This is a photo looking down my water bottle. I am a health fanatic and always have my 4-5 16.9oz bottles of water a day, but I have never paid attention to what the inside of the bottle looks like. I like how the "ribbing" ecos the circle in the bottom. And the design on the bottom looks like a star.

This is a photo of my keyboard. I like the way that the close ones are blurry and the distant ones are in focus. This is a good example of what happens when I am bored and tired and have a camera nearby. Sometimes they turn out good, and some times that turn out really bad.

I was actually riding my four wheeler when I decided to stop and take this picture because I liked the pattern the clouds made but when I was rotating the picture I liked it upside down better. The sky almost looks like water now, reflecting the trees.

This is a photo looking down into my jar of quarters, nickels, and dimes. I like this photo because the jar has leaves on it and their texture contrasts with the coins. Also the flash made it appear like their are some pennies in the bottom left of the circle....but their are none, it is just silver coins.

This is a flower from one of my fabric leis that I have in my room. I think it is neat how you can see the indvidual threads that make up the fabric. Blue is one of my fav colors, so that is why i chose this particular flower.

Radical Rug

This is a picture of my rug in my room. The actual color is a bright blue, which reflected the flash in a few areas. Some of the individual fibers reflected the light while others didn't. I really like the look that it created. I didn't plan on the picture looking like this, but I was really suprised and pleased at the way it turned out.

Snow Prints

The day I took this picture at the lake, there were hundreds of ducks and geese out on the water and walking around on the ice. But this shot of their little footprints was my favorite. Even after all the ducks left, their prints remained.

Double Vision

This is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken. Which one is the real alligator? The double vision of this makes people do double and even triple takes when they look at it. It is suspended, motionless in water and in time, floating along until the right moment when...SNAP! it unges out of the water with amazing force and speed.

I've seen this painting under the underpass in Augusta most of my life, but never really paid attention to it. Looking at it now, I wonder who painted it, this train heading "To Oz" as painted on a sign. How many other people have driven past it and never really seen it? How many other forgotten artwork to we pass by every day without appreciating?

I love this picture. The artist who made this really captured the passion and dedication that it takes to dance. As a dancer myself I can really "feel" what the girl in the picture is feeling. The colors used here tell me that the girl is dancing not out of happiness or joy, but instead out of sadness or anger, and yet she looks confidant and strong. This photo really makes me want to dance.

The cowboy

What can you see in this cowboy's eyes? I see a longing to go into the pastures and ride for hours. A wish for home, a hug from a mom or sister. His eyes reflect his youth, inexperience, and possibly a fear of his name being pulled to ride the impossible bronc. The tilt of the hat shows his open and friendly personality, his easy smile hovering on the corners of his lips. He is a friend, a brother, a son, and city boy. He is a 4-Her.
